The Bigga Jamaica Oaks, which is being sponsored by Wisynco for the second time, will carry a total purse of two point seven million dollars.

This was disclosed during the launch earlier today inside the Trainers’ Room at Caymanas Park.

The race will be contested by native bred three-year-old fillies over two thousand metres on Saturday, April 25 at Caymanas Park.

The sponsorship firm will contribute 700 thousand dollars to Oaks. An additional 300 thousand dollars will also be divided and added to the purse of six other races on the card.

Other races on the programme will be the Lady Geeta Trophy over 1200 metres and the Richochet Cup over the round five course.

In keeping with the Ladies Day theme for Oaks Day, Caymanas Track Limited will honour 12 women.

Among the distinguished women are Beijing Olympic gold medallist Melaine Walker and entertainers Tami Chynn and Tessane Chin.
