150 foreign athletes for UTECH classic

Beijing Olympic gold medallists Melaine Walker and Shelly-Ann Fraser along with former world record holder Asafa Powell are among the MVP athletes who will compete at the second University of Technology Track and Field Classic on Saturday, April 18.



The meet, which was launched yesterday at the MVP Track Club’s training field, will take place at the National Stadium beginning at 5 p.m.



Apart from the MVP athletes, the meet will also feature 150 foreign athletes from the USA, Cuba, United Kingdom, Sweden, Bahamas, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago.



There will also be athletes from Antigua, Liberia, Senegal, Columbia, Puerto Rico and Norway.



In addition, all the top local clubs and institutions along with the top high school athletes are expected to compete.
