Seaga elected Chairman of PFAJ

President of Tivoli Gardens Football Club, Edward Seaga was today elected chairman of the newly-formed Professional Football Association of Jamaica (PFAJ).



The PFAJ is a joint venture company, which includes members of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) and the Premier League Clubs Association.



The association was mandated to be formed by the board of the JFF in order to manage the commercial development of the National Premier League.



Also elected were Chris Bicknell as treasurer and Howard McIntosh as treasurer.



Four directors were also named. They are Raymond Anderson, Garry Sinclair, Michael Ricketts and Carvel Stewart.



Former FIFA referee Jamaican Victor Stewart has been elected as a member of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Referees’ Committee.



Stewart was one of four newly elected members. The others are chairman Leslie Austin of Barbados, Luis Yero of Cuba and Trinidadian Boni Bishop.



The Committee was appointed based on the advice of the CFU Executive Committee at its meeting on Monday.



The Committee will serve for the period 2009 to 2010.
