South Africa take the lead

Hosts South Africa defeated Australia by 25 runs in Cape Town today to take a two-one lead in the five-game one-day series.



AB de Villiers top-scored with 80 for South Africa after they won the toss and posted a 289 for six. Jacques Kallis supported with 70.



Left-arm seamer Mitchell Johnson was the most successful bowler for Australias taking four for 34.



Needing 290 to win, Australia ended on 267 for seven against the bowling of left-arm spinner Roelof van der Merwe, who took three for 37.



James Hopes was undefeated on 63 at the end. Callum Ferguson also scored 63 runs.
