Jamaica draw first blood

Jamaica turned in a good performance yesterday to beat England 49 to 33 in the first game of their three-match Under 21 netball series at GC Foster College in Spanish Town yesterday.



Crystal Gordon led the way for Jamaica with 35 goals from 48 attempts, while Christina Solmon got 10 from 11.



For England, Jo Harten ended with 21 from 27 and Monique Wood scored 10 from 14.



The second game will take place this afternoon at the same venue beginning at 5 o’clock.



The teams are preparing for the World Youth Championships, which will be staged in the Cook Islands from August 11 to 19.
