United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has called for donor countries to create more jobs in Haiti.

Mr. Ban wants at least 100,000 jobs to be created over the next two years.

Ban reportedly told donors meeting in Washington that he believes Haiti is poised to make more progress in the next two years than it has in the last two decades.

International donors have agreed to an aid package of US$324 million to help Haiti recover from last year’s hurricanes and food shortages.
