CLICO manager shot

The court-appointed manager of CLICO-Guyana, Maria Van Beek, is now in hospital after being shot earlier today.
The shooting comes less than one week after Ms Van Beek lodged a report on the state of the insurance company, stating that its US$60 million liability exceed its assets by $5 million.
Police said Ms Van Beek was shot when she stopped at a junction on the usually busy Lombard Street thoroughfare in Georgetown.
