Semi professional Super League bowls off Saturday
The second staging of Jamaica’s premier semi-professional cricket competition, the Jamaican Super Cricket League will bowls off on Saturday with eight teams competing for a first prize of one million dollar.
The runners-up will walk away with 400 thousand dollars. Matches will be played over two days.
The 2009 edition was launched earlier this afternoon inside the Director’s Box at Sabina Park.
Defending champions St Catherine Saints will open against Trelawny Buccaneers at Trelawny Multi Purpose Stadium.
The remaining matches are St Elizabeth Warriors against Hanover Dolphins at Alpart, Kingston Tigers tackling Manchester Lions at Sabina Park and Melbourne Kangaroos against newcomers Westmoreland Wanderers at Melbourne Oval.
The competition will include five overseas players. They are:- Rawle Lewis, Kurt Wilkinson, Runako Morton, Ryan Hinds and Andrew Fletchers.
