Semi professional Super League bowls off Saturday
West Indies players Andre Fletcher, Runako Morton and Ryan Hinds are among five overseas cricketers who have been contracted to play in Jamaica’s premier semi-professional cricket competition, the Jamaican Super Cricket League.
The competition bowls off tomorrow.
Fletcher will play for Westmoreland Wanderers, Hinds has been contracted to Trelawny Buccaneers while Manchester Lions have signed Morton.
The other two overseas cricketers are discarded West Indies player Rawle Lewis, who will play for Kingston Tigers and Kurt Wilkinson, who will play for Hanover Dolphins.
The second edition of the competition was launched yesterday inside the Director’s Box at Sabina Park.
Teams will be competing for a first prize of one million dollar, while the runners-up will walk away with 400 thousand dollars.
Defending champions St Catherine Saints will open against Trelawny Buccaneers at Trelawny Multi Purpose Stadium.
Matches will be played over two days.
