Jamaica win 11 medals
Jamaica will look to add to their medal tally later this afternoon at the CARIFTA Swimming Championship taking place at the Roly Bisslik Olympic Pool in Aruba.
Finals on today’s second day of the championships will begin at 5 p.m.
During yesterday’s opening day, Jamaica won 11 medals including two gold, three silver and six bronze.
The first gold medal came from Danielle Boothe. She won the girls 11 to 12 200-metre Breast stroke in a new CARIFTA and National Age Group record of two minutes 49 point seven to three seconds.
The other gold medal came from Timothy Wynter in the Boys 11-12 50-metre Back Stroke. Wynter won the event in a new Games Record of 30 point three to seven seconds.
Wynter captured another medal. He won bronze in the Boys 11-12 100-metre Butterfly in one-minute zero to six point six to three seconds.
The silver medals were won by Breanna Roman in the Girls 13 to 14 200-metre Breast stroke, Kendese Nangle in the Girls 13 to 14 50-metre Back Stoke and the four by 100-metre Freestyle relay girls’ team.
