World Cup qualifiers round up

Ireland lost to Kenya by six wickets in their latest World Cup qualifier in Pretoria, South Africa today but will play Canada in Sunday’s final.



The Irish, who had already qualified for next year’s World Cup, batted first and made 208 for nine off their 50 overs with Niall O’Brien top-scoring with 59.



Kenya replied with 209 for four off 48 overs, with Collins Obuya ending on 66 not out and Thomas Odoyo on 50 not out.



With the victory, Kenya have edged Afghanistan for the final World Cup spot by virtue of finishing in the top four.



The two other qualifiers are Canada and the Netherlands.



Meanwhile, Scotland and Afghanistan rounded out the top six and will all receive one-day international status for the next four years.
