Bermuda’s Premier Ewart Brown has described the United Kingdom\'s intervention in Turks and Caicos as unusually harsh and heavy-handed.
Premier Brown made the comment at a press conference at the close of the Fifth Summit of the Americas.
The suspension of the British Overseas Territory\'s constitutions was one of the issues discussed at the summit.
The British government decided to dissolve the Cabinet and legislature of the Turks and Caicos Islands following a corruption inquiry, which found signs of political immorality and immaturity in the Michael Misick government.
Misick has since resigned and has described the UK’s take over as modern day colonialism.
Premier Brown says the region should be deeply concern by this move.
