Haitians may have to wait at least another week for the results of Sunday’s Senate election.
Voting for 11 vacant seats in the Senate took place after a year and a half of delays caused by political infighting, riots and storms.
The votes are being tabulated at a facility in the capital Port-au-Prince.
Ballots are being trucked in from the countryside and by boat from surrounding minor islands.
Consultants said it could be eight days before results are known.
