Obama to issue invitation to Middle East heads
White House officials said the US is to invite Israeli, Palestinian and Egyptian leaders for separate talks in a new push for Mid-East peace.
President Barack Obama’s spokesman Robert Gibbs said the visits are likely to take place before his scheduled trip to France in June.
However, officials said the process has been delayed by conflict and adversity which US President Barack Obama has pledged to address.
There is no indication the Arab and Israeli leaders will have direct talks.
Mr. Gibbs said Mr. Obama is likely to discuss ways the United States can strengthen and deepen partnerships with the Middle East countries.
He said he is also expected to hold talks on the steps all parties must take to achieve peace between Israel and the Palestinians and Israel and the Arab states.
