The Antigua-based airline, LIAT yesterday announced that it had parted ways with its Chief Executive Officer, Mark Darby, with immediate effect.
The company also says it has put arrangements in place for the management of the company, pending the appointment of a new CEO.
The airline has expressed appreciation for the work done by Darby in the areas which it says have brought value to LIAT over the past three years.
When contacted, both LIAT Chairman Jean Holder and its Corporate Communications Manager Desmond Brown declined to give any further details on the development.
The decision comes amid a protracted pay dispute between the airline’s pilots and management as well as ongoing economic turbulence in the regional marketplace.
