Three-day match ends in draw

The three-day tour match between the touring West Indies and Leicestershire ended in a draw at Grace Road in England today.



Leicestershire trailing by 138 runs on first innings were 238 for six in their second innings when the game was called off. They resumed this morning on 51 for one.



Left-arm spinner, Sulieman Benn was the most successful West Indies bowler with two for 53 for match haul of six for 84.



Lionel Baker, Andrew Richardson, Darren Sammy and Lendl Simmons ended with a wicket apiece.



Two West Indies batsmen starred with the bat on yesterday’s second day. Lendl Simmons slammed his seventh first-class hundred before retiring hurt on 102, and Brendan Nash made 78 before he also retired hurt.



Final scores in the game:- Leicestershire 182 and 238 for six, West Indies, 320 for six declared.



West Indies will continue their preparations for the Test series with another three-day game against Essex at Chelmsford, starting on Saturday.
