The Secretary General of the Organisation of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, says he’s pleased with the outcome of the Senatorial elections in Haiti.
Haitians went to the polls to fill 11 vacant seats in the 30-member Senate after a year and a half of delays caused by political infighting, riots and natural disaster.
Insulza says the polls will boost the country’s democracy.
Haiti received about $12.5 million for holding the elections.
