Jamaica last night retained the Caribbean Netball Association Under-16 youth title after whipping Trinidad and Tobago 45-15 in the final game of the tournament at the National Indoor Sports Centre.

The Jamaicans have now won their eighth title in nine appearances at the tournament.

Their only defeat in the nine-year history of the tournament came in 2005 when Barbados defeated them and went on to capture the title.

The young Sunshine Girls were virtually assured of the 2009 title after outclassing Guyana 74-9 on Wednesday night.

Barbados and St Lucia were also victorious last night. Barbados recorded an easy 58 to 5 victory over Guyana; while St Lucia beat the Cayman Islands 37 to 20.
