The Barbados government has announced a six-month amnesty for illegal migrants from the Caribbean.
It begins next month.
Illegal immigrants who entered Barbados before December 31, 2005 and have been living on the island for at least eight years are eligible to apply for the amnesty.
Prime Minister, David Thompson says the current levels of immigration to Barbados are unacceptably high and pose economic and social challenges.
Mr. Thompson says his government is committed to adhering to agreements on migration within CARICOM.
