Logie to step down as Bermuda coach

The Bermuda Cricket Board says Trinidadian ex-West Indies batsman Gus Logie is to resign as coach of the national team.

Logie’s four-year contract is due to expire at the end of September and he has informed the Board that he will not renew it.

The 48-year-old guided Bermuda to their World Cup debut in the Caribbean in 2007, but was left disappointed when the team failed to reach a place at the next World Cup to be held in Asia in 2011.

Following the qualifiers in South Africa, Logie publicly hit out on the players.

Logie coached the West Indies in 2003 to 2004 and later coached Canada.
