Guyana’s Opposition Leader Robert Corbin is expected to undergo surgery in a New York hospital today.

Two weeks ago, Corbin was taken to hospital in Guyana after complaining about chest pains.

A week later, he was airlifted to a hospital in the United States to receive further treatment.

Members of Corbin’s party say they are confident that he will make a full recovery in a short time.
