Munro College secures semi-final place

Defending boys’ champion, Munro College secured a semi-final spot in the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association/Jamaica Hockey Federation’s Under-14 competition following yesterday’s round of matches at the Mona astro turf.



Munro College advanced after blanking Mona High 3-0 and then earned a 1-1 draw against Wolmers in their second match.



The St Elizabeth-based school has now moved to 10 points in Zone ‘A’, five ahead of second place Wolmers on five, while Mona High are in third place on four points.



In Zone ‘B’, Tivoli Gardens hammered Papine High 5-0 to move to the top of the table on goal difference with six points. Jamaica College are also on six points.



In the girls’ competition, defending champions Alpha Academy also gained a semi-final spot following a 3-1 victory over St Hughes in their final Group ‘A’ preliminary game.



In another girls’ match, Papine High secured a 3-3 draw with St Andrew in Zone ‘B’ to qualify for the semi-final.



The competition continues tomorrow with five games.
