Manchester Lions defeated St Elizabeth Warriors by eight wickets at Kirkvine Oval yesterday to take sole leadership in the Jamaica Cricket League, which ended its fifth, round of matches yesterday.

Trailing by 43 runs, St Elizabeth Warriors batting a second time could only managed 79 against the bowling of Krishmar Santokie five for 20.
Needing 37 runs to win, Manchester ended on 41 for two.

Following the victory, Manchester Lions have now moved to 17 points, three ahead of second place Kingston Tigers, who won first innings points from Trelawny Buccaneers at Sabina Park.

Over at Chedwin Park, the match between defending champions St Catherine Saints and Westmoreland Wizards ended in a no-result after play was suspended yesterday because of rain.
