Guyana to start cross network texting

Customers of rival mobile phone service providers, Digicel Guyana and the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company, will soon be able to send text messages across the networks, following a year-long dispute.



The companies said customers will be able to use the service as of June 1.



They said the details of the deal were agreed on some time ago but it has taken a while for the contractual terms to be worked out.
