St. Vincent Opposition Leader Arnhim Eustace says Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves overreacted when he threatened to withdraw St Vincent and the Grenadines from the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).
Last Thursday, Mr. Gonsalves said he was concerned by the treatment meted out to nationals of his country by Immigration authorities in some CARICOM countries.
He then threatened to pull out of the regional integration process.
However, Mr. Eustace has described the prime minister’s suggestion as unjustified.
He says given the size of the country and its economy, it would be a bad decision for St. Vincent to withdraw its membership from the CSME.
