The Jamaica Hockey Federation (JHF) has postponed the Caribbean Cup, which was scheduled to take place from June 22 to 28 at the Mona Astro Turf.

JHF president Victor Tomlinson says the withdrawal of Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana and Netherland Antilles forced his association to take the position.

Tomlinson further says the JHF was having difficulties in securing sponsorship because of the global and local economic crisis.

The president says the national teams will remain in training for two overseas assignments.

The men’s team is scheduled to take part in the Simon Bolivar tournament in Venezuela in October, while the women’s team is down to participate in the Hermana Mirabel tournament in the Dominican Republic in November.
