The people of Cayman have chosen a new government.
Preliminary results from yesterday’s general election indicate that leader of the opposition United Democratic Party (UDP), McKeeva Bush, has claimed victory after his party won nine of the 15 seats in the polls.
The People\'s Progressive Movement (PPM) took five with the other won by an independent who\'s reportedly supporting the new government.
Speaking to jubilant supporters early this morning, Mr Bush appealed for national unity after a fiercely fought campaign.
