St Vincent getting help to fight drugs

St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be getting help in its fight against drug trafficking.



Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said seven Caribbean nations have agreed to provide manpower and machines in support of a major security operation against marijuana cultivation in the country\'s mountains.



Dr. Gonsalves said his government wants to smash the criminal groups behind the illegal business, confiscate illegal firearms and reduce deforestation.



Countries involved include member countries of the OECS, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago.



Dr. Gonsalves said foreigners are helping to drive criminality in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
