Bangalore secure semi-final berth

Bangalore Royal Challengers escaped with a 12-run win over Deccan Chargers to secure a spot in the semifinals of the Indian Premier League in South Africa today.



Manish Pandey hit the second century of this year\'s tournament to guide the Bangalore Royal Challengers to 170 for 4 off their allotted 20 overs.



The 19-year-old struck a masterly and unbeaten 114.



Left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha was the best bowler for Deccan, claiming two for 32 in four overs.



Needing 171 for victory, Deccan Chargers ended on 158 for six with Herschelle Gibbs topscoring with 60.



Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble ended with two wickets apiece for Bangalore.



Bangalore jumped over Deccan to claim third in the league standings, setting up a semifinal against second-placed Chennai Super Kings on Saturday at Johannesburg.



Deccan will play league leader Delhi Daredevils in the first semifinal tomorrow at Pretoria.



The final is on Sunday.
