Fast bowler Fidel Edwards said the West Indies were disappointed by the washout of today’s opening One-Day International at Headingley.

However, Edward said the players are confident about the remaining two matches of the series.

Heavy overnight and morning rain left the outfield saturated and unfit for play, forcing match officials to abandon the match.

West Indies played poorly to lose the two-Test emphatically, with a 10-wicket defeat inside three days at Lord’s followed by an innings and 83-run loss at Chester-le-Street.

Edwards, the West Indies Man-of-the-Series in the Test series, said he is impressed with his form and is looking to deliver in the One Day series.

West Indies will face England at Bristol on Sunday and at Edgbaston next Tuesday, in the remaining One Day matches.
