Trinidad attorney general resigns

The Attorney General for Trinidad and Tobago Brigid Annisette-George has reportedly resigned from the Government of Prime Minister Patrick Manning.



According to the Trinidad Express newspaper former attorney general John Jeremie, who is now the island’s High Commissioner to Britain, will likely succeed Annisette-George.



Local radio stations have also reported that Ms Annisette-George was scheduled to publicly announce her resignation after 18 months in the post.



She was appointed by the ruling People’s National Movement following its last victory at the polls.
