St. Lucia protest continues

Trade unions in St. Lucia have advised public sector workers to remain off the job today and tomorrow until the Government improves its four per cent wage increase offer.
Close to 1,000 placard-bearing demonstrators marched through the streets of the capital, Castries, yesterday after the Government failed to honour a promise to increase wages by 7.5 per cent.
The protestors, including teachers, are unhappy with a unilateral decision taken by the Stephen King administration to amend its pay offer to 3.5 per cent.
