EU signs visa waiver with Caribbean

The European Union (EU) has signed short-stay visa waiver agreements with four Caribbean countries.
The Caribbean countries are Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados and St. Kitts and Nevis.
Mauritius and Seychelles, in the pacific will also benefit.
The new visa regime provides for visa-free travel for EU citizens when travelling to the six countries.
It also allows for visa-free travel for citizens of the six countries when going to the EU, for a period not exceeding three months.
The new travel regime will apply to all categories of persons and for any purposes of travel.
However, the EU says, it will not apply to persons travelling for the purpose of carrying out a paid activity.
