Update: International head says players share Gayle’s views

Tim May, the head of the Federation of International Cricketers’ Association, said Chris Gayle is one of many international players who feel they will have to choose between their countries and private franchise-based Twenty/Twenty events in the future.

May said a survey conducted recently showed that several international players shared the same views as the West Indies captain.

According to May the international calendar will soon have no less than five Twenty/Twenty leagues involving international players competing with Tests and One-Day internationals.

He said it will be easier for players to turn their back on international cricket because of the number of Twenty/Twenty events that are programmed in the calendar year.
