Trinidad and Tobago’s ruling People’s National Movement will hold a special convention on June 21 to discuss plans for a political and economic union with Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States.

The union is to be created by 2013.

The Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Patrick Manning said the matter would be raised at the next general council meeting of his party.

Mr Manning said last weekend, the party examined a document on integration, which looked at governance systems in the region.
