The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Denzil Douglas, says the upcoming sixth PetroCaribe summit will provide an opportunity the country to further strengthen plans for its energy security.
The June 12 summit will be held in St Kitts.
It will follow a meeting of energy ministers from the PetroCaribe member states to be chaired by the energy minister for St Kitts Earl Asim Martin.
According to Dr Douglas, energy is key to the ongoing development and stability of nations across the globe.
He was speaking on his radio programme ‘Ask the Prime Minister’.
St. Kitts-Nevis is a signatory to the PetroCaribe agreement, which permits regional Governments to buy oil from Venezuela at market prices with 25 years to pay for the supplies.
