The appointment was announced in a press release from Dubai Sports City, in the United Arab Emirates. The four-man panel that makes up the board will be chaired by former International Cricket Council (ICC) President, Ehsan Mani. The other members are the former ICC President Malcolm Gray and the Chairman of the ICC Anti-Corruption and Security Unit, Lord Paul Condon.

The Dubai Sports City Cricket Advisory Board will provide advice and counsel to the management of Dubai Sports City on all matters pertaining to cricket at Dubai Sports City, including matches at the new 25,000 capacity Dubai International Cricket Stadium, and the ICC Global Cricket Academy.
