Symonds sent home for disciplinary reasons
Cricket Australia has sent Andrew Symonds home from the World 20/20 tournament in England for disciplinary reasons.
Cricket Australia says the decision had been taken after the 33 year old all rounder broke team rules relating to alcohol and other issues.
Symonds was not selected in Australia’s 16 man squad for the Ashes series.
Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland and captain Ricky Ponting declined to give specifics of the misbehaviour.
Ponting says Cricket Australia is looking for a replacement for Symonds ahead of the team\'s opening match of the 20/20 World Cup on Saturday against West Indies.
Symond has a record of off-field problems dating back to Australia’s last tour to England in 2005, when he was banned for two matches after arriving drunk to a limited-overs international.
