Sarwan confident of Windies revival
West Indies batting ace Ramnaresh Sarwan said he is expecting the Caribbean team to do well at the International Cricket Council World Twenty/Twenty Championships despite the players below par performances in England.
The tournament starts tomorrow with hosts England facing the Netherlands and Sarwan believes the Windies, who open against Australia on Saturday, are capable winning the tournament.
Sarwan also said the players only need to stick to the basics to achieve good results.
West Indies will play in Group ‘C’ alongside Australia and Sri Lanka, who they tackle next Wednesday at Trent Bridge.
Since arriving in England in April, the Windies have endured dismal form, losing both Test and One Day International series against England.
Their only victories on the entire trip so far have come in World Twenty/Twenty warm-up matches against little rated Ireland and Scotland.
