Britain\'s Prime Minister Gordon Brown continues to revamp his cabinet as his government is rocked by resignations and calls for him to quit.

Defence Secretary John Hutton has become the latest minister to quit the government, although he says he will remain loyal to Gordon Brown.

His resignation comes after James Purnell quit as work and pensions secretary with a call for the Prime Minister to stand aside to prevent the Labour party’s defeat at the next election.

Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, Communities Secretary Hazel Blears and two junior ministers have already resigned.

Mr Brown is said to be reshuffling his top team as he fights for his political future.
