England were humiliated in the Twenty/Twenty World Cup opener today, losing by four wickets to the Netherlands on the last ball of the match in one of the biggest shocks in cricket history.

Needing seven runs off the final over after the host had totaled 162 for 5 at Lord\'s, the Dutch team scored singles until Edgar Schiferli hit two off the final ball when bowler Stuart Broad\'s shy at the stumps went for an overthrow.

Dutch batsmen Tom de Grooth hit 49 and Peter Borren 30 to top-score for their team. James Anderson was the most successful bowler for England with three for 23.

Luke Wright 71 and Ravi Bopara 46 were the top scorers for England.

West Indies will open against Australia tomorrow morning at 8 o’clock Jamaica time at The Brit Oval.

There will be two other games, Bangladesh against India at Trent Bridge and New Zealand playing Scotland, also at The Brit Oval.
