The Miami-based cruise operator Royal Caribbean Cruises says the recent swine flu outbreak has been affecting its finances.
Chairman of Royal Caribbean Richard Fain says the flu outbreak already had a highly disruptive impact to the company’s operations.
According to the company, the virus, which led Royal Caribbean International\'s ships to avoid Mexican ports, will lower its earnings by about 22 cents per share.
Mr. Fain says Royal Caribbean\'s vessels are quickly returning to their original itineraries.
And he says the impact from the publicity surrounding the H1N1 virus on his company\'s Mexican business is frustrating.
