St Georges wins Fair Play Award

Premiership team St Georges Sports Club last night walked away with the prestigious Fair Play Award at the Digicel Premier League and National Under 21 Award Ceremony.



The Award Ceremony was held inside the Grand Ball Room at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston.



The Portland-based club, who finished seventh in the recently concluded Digicel Premier League, received $100,000 along with the award.



The Tony Burrowes Player Personality of the Year Trophy was presented to Devon Hodges of Rivoli United.



Hodges also received two other major awards, the Most Valuable Players and the top goalscorer awards. He received $100,000 each for those awards.



Other major awards went to Lenworth Hyde of champions Tivoli Gardens, for Coach of the Year, Roland Dean of Tivoli Gardens, who was presented with the Digicel Viewers Choice Award and Kemar Daley of Meadhaven United, who received the Junior Player of the Season awards.



In the Jamaica Football Federation’s (JFF) Under-21 competition, the Fair Play Award went to Waterhouse Football Club, which also received $20,000.
