Man sentenced for cocaine trafficking

A judge in the US state of Maryland has sentenced a 47 year old man to more than 12 years in prison for conspiracy to import drugs from Barbados and Dominica.
According to the Justice Department, Cecil Jeter was linked to 7 year operation to import large quantities of heroin and cocaine into the US.
Officials say Jeter admitted that he transported currency to Bridgetown and Roseau on at least three occasions.
They say each time he returned to the US with between three and four kilos of heroin or cocaine taped to his body.
In February, the alleged ringleader of the operation, Derrick Gilliard, was sentenced to 25 years in jail.
