Haitian jailed for theft

A former US Embassy employee in Haiti has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for stealing more than $800, 000 from the State Department.
A US District Court judge has ordered 44-year-old Jean Saint-Joy to pay restitution in the amount of the theft.
In February, he pleaded guilty and admitted that he had engaged in a scheme to embezzle funds from the State Department.
