Sri Lanka batted first and were restricted to 150 for seven against the bowling of Umar Gul two for 34 and Shahid Afridi two for 23 in the Group ‘E’ match.

Needing 151 for victory, Pakistan could only manage 131 for nine with Lasith Malinga taking three for 17 and Muttiah Muralitharan two for 28. Younis Khan top scored for Pakistan with 50.
