Chavez wants more CARICOM cooperation

Venezuela\'s President Hugo Chavez wants a closer cooperation between his country and CARICOM.



Speaking in Dominica, Mr Chavez said he saw Caribbean countries as part of a wider initiative including the member states of his Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas.



Mr Chavez was in Dominica for the opening of a US$35 million fuel and storage distribution plant as part of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas initiative.



Dominica is currently the only member of initiative who is also a part of CARICOM.



St Vincent is due to sign on next month.
