Antigua Opposition Leader Lester Bird has indicated that he will forego his salary in protest against the socio-economic policies of the current government.
In a letter to the Accountant General, Mr Bird said he should duly make the sacrifice as many public servants have not received their due payments.
He said that due to the harsh economic times others are experiencing he would live on his current pension.
He further said government officials who have made no sacrifice at all would criticize his action.
But he said he has a duty of care to all who live in Antigua and Barbuda, and he will meet that duty as best he can.
