BRIEFS - Iniesta doubt

JOHANNESBURG (AP):

Andres Iniesta is "not totally well" and could miss Spain's World Cup match against Honduras later today, according to coach Vicente del Bosque.

Iniesta was substituted in the 77th minute of Spain's 1-0 opening Group H loss to Switzerland after receiving a hard knock to his right leg. Del Bosque said Iniesta would be a game-time decision.

"We've got every player available except for Andres Iniesta, who is not totally well," Del Bosque said yesterday.

Iniesta, who has trained apart from the other 22 players since its opening defeat, has been bothered by a thigh muscle problem in the same leg since May 2009.

"It has nothing to do with the previous injury," Del Bosque said. "He's suffering from a knock that he picked up on his last play against Switzerland, which hasn't allowed him to be in perfect shape."

Not concerned

PRETORIA, South Africa (AP):

Argentina striker Sergio Aguero insists he takes no pleasure in seeing other traditional football powers struggling at the World Cup, even though it could lead to some easier match-ups in the knockout rounds.

Argentina is one of the few favourites to have lived up to expectations so far at the tournament, with Spain, France, Italy and England all struggling in the group stage.

Argentina won their first two games and only need a draw against Greece tomorrow to guarantee advancement, while some of their biggest rivals are already facing must-win games just to stay alive.

"We don't care who our rivals will be" in the next rounds, Aguero said. "If we want to reach the final, we're going to face some difficult countries."

Aguero plays for Atletico Madrid in the Spanish league, but said he was indifferent to Spain's stunning loss against Switzerland, which has put added pressure on the European champion.

"It's all the same to me what Spain does. If they go through or not is their problem," Aguero said.
