EAST BOSTON, Massachusetts (CMC):

Jamaican Winston Thompson landed a double at Suffolk Downs on Saturday evening, as he continued in the top three of the jockeys' standings at the north-eastern United States oval.

He opened the day's nine-race card with victory aboard the six-year-old bay filly Pretty Momma and then won race three with Wonder Struck to complete a satisfactory outing.

Thompson sits third in the jockeys' standings on 20 wins, with Tammy Piermarini on top with 29 wins and Hector Ramos second on 24.

Going a mile and 70 yards in race one for the three-year-old and upward fillies and mares, Thompson stalked the pace with Pretty Momma as Instead set the early fractions.

Pretty Momma then reached the front on the far turn and was ridden out to reach the finish six lengths clear in a time of 1:49.19 seconds.
